What This System Does

YiXiang is an entertainment and personal insight platform rooted in Eastern wisdom traditions. It uses artificial intelligence to provide personality insights and entertainment analysis based on two distinct modalities:

• Face Reading (相面): AI analyzes uploaded facial photographs through the lens of Eastern physiognomy frameworks to generate personality observations and reflections.
• I Ching Divination (易经): AI interprets hexagrams cast via traditional coin-toss randomization, drawing on classical Zhou Yi commentaries to produce contextual readings.

AI Technology Used

YiXiang is built on large language models developed by OpenAI:

• GPT-4V (Vision): Used for face reading analysis. This multimodal model processes image inputs and generates text describing observed facial features in relation to Eastern physiognomy frameworks.
• GPT-4: Used for I Ching hexagram interpretation. The model generates readings drawing on classical texts and commentaries associated with the Zhou Yi (周易) tradition.

The interpretive frameworks applied include 麻衣神相 (the Maguyi Physiognomy Canon), the Zhou Yi (64 hexagrams and changing lines), and associated classical commentaries. These traditions are used as a cultural and symbolic lens — not as scientific methodology.

AI model outputs are processed through YiXiang's platform before delivery. We do not use the raw model response verbatim; outputs are formatted, contextualized, and filtered before reaching users.

How Face Reading Works

The face reading process follows these steps:

• You upload a photograph through the YiXiang face reading interface.
• The image is transmitted securely to our AI processing pipeline.
• GPT-4V analyzes visible facial features (such as facial structure, proportions, and characteristic features) and maps observations against Eastern physiognomy frameworks.
• A reading is generated and returned to you as an entertainment insight.
• Your photo is deleted immediately after analysis is complete. We do not store, retain, or use your facial image for any other purpose.

The AI does not "recognize" you or match your face against any database. It performs a one-time descriptive analysis for the purposes of generating your reading.

System Limitations

You should be aware of the following limitations before using YiXiang:

• Not scientifically validated: Eastern physiognomy and I Ching divination are cultural and philosophical traditions, not empirical sciences. YiXiang's AI analysis is not validated by peer-reviewed research.
• Results vary: The same photograph or question may produce different results across sessions. AI outputs are probabilistic and non-deterministic.
• Not for important decisions: Do not use YiXiang readings to make significant life decisions — financial, medical, legal, relational, or otherwise. These readings are entertainment, not guidance.
• Cannot predict the future: No feature of YiXiang predicts or forecasts future events. Readings describe patterns, tendencies, and symbolic interpretations — not outcomes.
• Accuracy is not guaranteed: AI analysis may not be accurate, relevant, or meaningful for all individuals. Demographic factors, image quality, question phrasing, and many other variables affect output quality.
• Cultural context: The frameworks used reflect specific Chinese cultural traditions. Interpretations are generated within that cultural frame and may resonate differently for individuals from other backgrounds.

Human Oversight

YiXiang maintains human oversight of AI outputs through the following practices:

• Content filtering: All AI-generated readings pass through automated content filters before delivery. Outputs flagged for harmful, discriminatory, or distressing content are blocked and not shown to users.
• Periodic review: The YiXiang team periodically reviews system outputs to identify quality issues, systematic errors, or patterns of concern and adjusts system prompts and filters accordingly.
• User reporting: Users can report problematic or harmful results directly to our team. Reports are reviewed by a human and used to improve the system.

AI-Generated Content Notice

All readings displayed on YiXiang — including I Ching interpretations, face reading analyses, and any personality reflections — are generated entirely by artificial intelligence. No human expert, practitioner, or advisor is involved in producing individual readings.

Results shown in the platform are labeled "AI Generated" to ensure you are always aware of the nature of the content you are receiving. This labeling is in place across all reading types.

YiXiang does not represent that any reading reflects the opinion, judgment, or expertise of a human practitioner of Chinese metaphysical arts.

No Automated Decision-Making with Legal Effects

YiXiang does not use AI to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant impacts on users. Specifically:

• No reading affects your access to services, credit, employment, insurance, education, or healthcare.
• No reading is used to profile, score, or classify you in ways that have material consequences.
• No reading is shared with third parties for decision-making purposes.

The AI system on YiXiang produces entertainment content only. No automated decision defined under Article 22 of the GDPR or Article 6 of the EU AI Act applies to our use of AI. You retain full autonomy over any choices you make following a reading.

Opt-Out

Use of AI-powered features on YiXiang is entirely voluntary. You are never required to submit a photo or interact with any AI analysis feature.

• Face Reading: You can choose not to use the face reading feature at any time. Simply do not upload a photo. Your account and all other features remain fully available.
• I Ching (Text-Only): The I Ching divination feature does not require any image input. It is always available as a text-only alternative that involves no facial analysis of any kind.
